贵州大学体育教学部简介

        于 2004年由原贵州大学、原贵州工业大学体育部合并成立，目前是全省高等院校中规模最大的学校体育教育部门之一。

        教学部现有教师59名，教学辅助人员5名，其中具有高级职称的教师占42.37％，国家级裁判5人。体育教学部下设党政办公室、体育教育专业教研室、公共体育教研室、《学生体质健康标准》测试中心、高水平运动队管理中心、教学科研科、场地器材管理中心等机构。教学部现拥有一个体育教育本科专业和多支高水平运动队。承担体育教育专业和全校公共体育课程教学、《学生体质健康标准》测试、高水平运动队训练及课外体育活动的组织与指导工作。

        教学部现有体育场馆面积210248平方米，生均6.54平方米，场馆内各类体育设施齐全，是目前西南地区高校最具规模的集教学、训练、比赛、大型活动等功能为一体的现代化体育教学基地，满足了人才培养需要。

        多年来，教学部坚持教学与科研并重，围绕教学抓科研，抓好科研促教学，取得了丰硕的成果。近三年来，我部教师发表学术论文130余篇，出版专著、教材9部。

        体育教学部现已开设包括球类、健身、健美操、瑜珈、少数民族传统体育、舞龙舞狮等课程14门，并设有篮球、排球、足球（男子）、田径、网球、乒乓球、羽毛球、健美操（女子）、武术、跆拳道、游泳、定向越野等12支学生运动队，运动训练水平在全省颇具影响。近年来各代表队在省级各类体育竞赛中始终保持领先地位；在全国性重大比赛中多次获得优异成绩；并荣获国家教育部、体育总局颁发的“全国学校体育先进单位”及“全国群众体育先进单位”荣誉称号。

        贵州大学体育教学部于2007年9月开始招收体育教育专业本科学生，现有学生39人。

        在学校党委、行政的领导下，贵州大学体育教学部将继续坚持“以学生为主体，让学生接受体育教育，享受体育乐趣，感受体育效益，把体育课程办成最受学生欢迎的课程之一”的体育教育理念，以教育为根本，以科研为先导，以训练为特色，统筹利用校内外教育资源，积极扩大办学空间，大力改善办学条件，不断提高教育质量，努力培养全面发展和开拓创新的高素质体育人才。

 Brief Introduction to Physical Education Department of GZU

     Based on the previous Physical Education Department of GZU and that of GUT, the present Physical Education Department of GZU was established in 2004, and now is one of the largest departments of physical education in Guizhou province’s institutions of higher learning.
     Of the total 64 members, there are 59 full-time teachers and 5 staff members, 42.7 percent of whom have senior professional title, and 5 are national level referees. The department consists of such sections as office, teaching-research group for physical education major, teaching-research group for non physical education major, test center of Students Health Standards, management center of high-level sports team, teaching and research section, management center of fields and equipments. The department currently possesses one undergraduate major of physical education and several high-level sports teams. The department undertakes the teaching tasks of physical education major and non physical education major across the university, the test of Students Health Standards, the training of high-level sports teams, and the organization and guidance of extra-curricular sports activities.
     The Physical Education Department currently has gymnasium and sports ground resources with a total area covering 210,248 square meters, from which each student enjoys an average area of 6.54 square meters. Thus it can meet the demand of cultivating talents. As one of the largest of all colleges & universities in southwest China, the gymnasium and sports ground of GZU are all equipped with comprehensive athletic facilities. It has become the modern teaching base of physical education which integrates the function of teaching, training, hosting games and large-scale activities, and etc.
     For years, the department has obtained successful achievements by stressing both teaching and academic research, focusing on teaching to consolidate research, and increasing scientific research to promote teaching. The teaching staff at the department in recent three years has published more than 130 academic papers, 9 academic books and textbooks.
     Currently, the Physical Education Department offers 14 curriculum courses such as balls, body building, aerobics, yoga, ethnic traditional physical education, dragon dance and lion dance, and so on. Besides, the department has organized and trained 12 student sport teams in basketball, volleyball, football (male), track and field, table tennis, badminton, aerobics (female), martial arts, kickboxing, swimming and cross-country orienteering, etc. Their training level and performances are influential in the province. In recent years, the respective representative teams have kept the leading positions in various types of sports competitions in the province. They have brought honors to the university a couple of times in state-level important sports competitions. The department has won honorary titles of “National School Physical Education Advanced Unit” and “National Mass Sports Advanced Unit” issued by Ministry of Education and General Administration of Sports of China.
     The Physical Education Department of GZU has enrolled undergraduate students to offer physical education program to them since September of 2007. At present, there are 39 students.
     Under the leadership of the university Party committees and executives, the Physical Education Department will consistently pursue its educational concept of student-centeredness: Let students enjoy and benefit from physical education and make physical lesson one of the most popular courses. Putting P.E at the first place by doing scientific research and training with characteristics, making full use of physical education resources within and out of the university, the Physical Education Department of GZU tries to expand the scale for schooling, improve educational conditions and raise continuously the quality and level of education, and make efforts to cultivate the high-quality, all-around developed sports talents with innovative thoughts.
